Performance Improvement Plan (PIP)
Performance Improvement Plan (PIP)
A performance improvement plan is a tool or rubric given to an employee with poor performance. The PIP will act as a guide to course correct the employee’s performance and address any failures to meet goals and objectives.
Benefits of a performance improvement plan:
Rather than just provide criticism of an employee’s performance, a PIP provides the employee with an actionable plan for improvement that both manager and employee can work on together and monitor for progress. A PIP provides the structure a low performing employee needs to improve.
