Watch Video | Continuous Performance Management Session at New Zealand HR Leaders' Summit
Cornerstone Small & Medium Business joined the HR Leaders’ Summit in Auckland, New Zealand for a one-day event focused on pressing issues for HR professionals in the workplace today (and finding solutions!). The event provided the perfect platform for professionals to gather and meet their peers to share experiences and learn about key developments in the field.
Cornerstone’s own Dr. Hendrik Thomas attended the HR Leaders’ Summit as a guest speaker exploring the topic of continuous performance management. Dr. Thomas is a senior product manager at Cornerstone and is dedicated to helping clients evolve their performance management to a continuous approach.
Watch Dr. Thomas' full presentation below:
Continuous performance management puts the focus back on employee engagement by creating a culture of frequent (even real-time) feedback and learning. According to Dr. Thomas, it’s time to put the days of inefficient, annual reviews behind us. The proof of which comes from employees themselves, in that, 95% of employees are dissatisfied with the annual review process and 90% don’t believe they provide accurate information.
A culture of continuous feedback, on the contrary, provides much more positive results. When managers provide daily feedback (versus annual feedback), their employees are:
- 6.0 times more likely to strongly agree that they receive meaningful feedback
- 3.6 times more likely to strongly agree that they are motivated to do outstanding work
- 3.0 times more likely to be engaged at work
